Jason Short

Individual one-on-one music training can be one of the most valuable resources to achieve your own personal goals as a musician. But, it's extremely important to find an instructor that understands what you're trying to accomplish.
My formal education started with the only real performing guitar player in a small town in Southeastern Ohio named Kevin. I quickly progressed to his teacher, Chuck Spires and then studied Music Theory and Composition at Ohio University before the lure of the road called my name.
My performing career started in bars and high school parties before reaching amphitheaters and arenas from across the country, Cuba to Canada. I continue to play regionally as the bassist for Mark Pennington and the Outlaw Uprising, as well as, fingerstyle guitar sets for local organizations and individual private events.
While performing, I continued to study privately with anyone I could find; most notably, Troy Millard, Karl Wohlwend, Stephen Aron, and Mir Ali. I truly feel that when you stop furthering your own education, you stop feeding your internal drive to play music. I still to this day continue to study music privately.
Through Suzuki Certification, I specialize in teaching young children. I have four children myself and three of them also study music.
I believe the combination of my education, past and present, along with my years of real world performance experience gives me the insight to provide a wide range of students with a comprehensive musical education, regardless of age or skill level.
